CHAMPAIGN — A day after the St. Thomas More girls’ basketball program suffered a season-ending Class 3A sectional championship defeat, the Sabers received some more life-altering news on Friday afternoon with the resignation of Jay Price.
The STM coach the last two seasons and former Illinois men’s basketball assistant coach, Price is stepping aside after two seasons leading the Sabers to take a private sales job with a company in Kansas City, Mo.
Price will start his new job next week, he said, and Friday was his last day as an associate director of business development at the University of Illinois.
