John Groce isn’t the only coach on the Illinois campus dealing with these problems.
First-year Illinois softball coach Tyra Perry, whose team hosts Indiana State at 5 p.m. today in the final home game this season, has had two players arrested since January and a third is the alleged victim of domestic battery in an ongoing court case involving Illinois men’s basketball player Jaylon Tate.
“It’s unfortunately something that has happened,” Perry said. “We’ve chosen to deal with each situation individually.”
