Perfect beginning for women's hoops

CHAMPAIGN — Illinois’ 98-43 rout of Tennes-see State on Tuesday night at Dodds Athletic Center reaffirmed one thing — clearly — about the Illini.

This is not the same Brooke Kissinger that struggled to find her shot and confidence last season as a freshman.

Kissinger missed her first shot Tuesday against the Tigers. Then knocked down a three-pointer from the same spot seconds later after an offensive rebound and assist from CeCe Rice.

Twice more Kissinger spotted up from the right wing in the first half.

Swish.

And swish.

She did it again — from several steps behind the line this time — just before the buzzer sounded to signal the end of the first half.
