Parker not done for Illini at NCAA championships

PITTSBURGH — Emery Parker is the last man standing for Illinois wrestling.

The redshirt senior showed during last season's NCAA championships his ability to perform in must-win scenarios when he reeled off seven straight wins in wrestlebacks en route to a third-place finish.

Well, Parker has a chance to match that feat with more wins today.

The Warren Township graduate stayed alive in the consolation bracket with four wins during Friday's proceedings at the NCAA championships at PPG Paints Arena.

He won a back-and-forth 184-pound consolation second-round match against Missouri's Dylan Wisman, securing a two-point reversal 10 seconds into the third period and another late takedown in regulation.
