Illinois men’s tennis will find out Tuesday if it will play host in the first two rounds of the NCAA tournament next weekend, with the selection show slated to start at 4:30 p.m. on NCAA.com
But the Illini (19-10) won’t be satisfied by letting their home fans see them in action at least once more this season.
“Our program is measured on how deep of a run we make in the NCAA Championships,” UI coach Brad Dancer said. “We know we’re in the NCAA tournament. What do we do there? How do we progress from there?”
If Illinois hosts the start of the NCAA tournament, the odds of a run to at least the Sweet 16 is favorable.
