SAVOY — No offense to the company you kept at lunch on Wednesday afternoon, but I'm going to go out on a limb and assume it wasn't as heavy-hitting as the crew that shared a meal on the patio at Old Orchard Lanes.
The centerpiece was Lou Henson, the winningest basketball coach in Illini history, who regularly brings together at least a half-dozen of his closest friends once a week. Early to arrive, Henson is flanked by Jim Wright and Orv Holman to his left and Dave Lawrence to his right at a table that eventually grows to 15.
