URBANA — University of Illinois trustees are set to take formal action on the appointment of football Coach Lovie Smith as they meet this morning at the Illini Union.
Smith’s six-year agreement includes $21 million in direct compensation, plus other incentives:
— He’ll receive $2 million each of the first two years of the contract, $3 million in the third, $4 million in the fourth and $5 million in years five and six.
