Though far from pretty and often head scratching, Illinois’ second game back in its home arena finally resulted in a victory.
The Illini downed Western Carolina 80-68 Saturday afternoon and earned their first win since returning to the State Farm Center on Wednesday with a loss to Notre Dame.
Kendrick Nunn scored a career-high 27 points while redshirt freshman Michael Finke added 24 points and a team-high six rebounds — the best performance of his nine-game career.
