In golf, making a birdie is not always the best way to make up strokes on a competitor. Sometimes you can just play solid golf and make a lot of pars while waiting for your opponent to mess up.
That seemed to be the strategy heading into day two for the Illini.
Illinois started the day in a tie for 15th place in the standings. They need to get into the top 8 by the end of day three and yesterday they made up a lot of ground.
The top four golfers for the Illini all played extremely consistent.
