As far as new blood is concerned, the Illini are bringing in Casey Washington from the class of 2019 and Jadon Thompson from the class of 2020. Washington is a 6-foot-2, 175-pound three-star recruit and Thompson checks in as a 6-foot-2, 160-pound four-star recruit. These two will help with youth at the position.
Illinois is also bringing in two graduate transfers who both have two years of eligibility remaining. Josh Imatorbhebhe and Trevon Sidney are both USC transfers and will both help this program tremendously. Imatorbhebhe is a 6-foot-2, 215-pound pass catcher who was a four-star recruit coming out of high school.
