On the offensive side of the ball, the quarterback is Tyler Macon from East St. Louis High School. Macon is a target for Illinois but 247Sports has Iowa State as the leader right now. He isn’t the only target the Illini are pursuing from East St. Louis, though.
Lawaun Powell Jr. is named as one of the top wide receivers. He has been on Illinois’ radar for quite some time and recently cut his list down to just three teams. Nebraska, Purdue and the Illini are all vying for his commitment.
