One of the most recent scholarship offers went to Sean McLaughlin. He announced on Twitter Monday that he had received the offer from the Illini and tagged coach Mike Bellamy and Austin Clark. Winning recruiting battles in the state of Illinois would be big for the program, and a good starting place would be McLaughlin.
McLaughlin is a 6-foot-7, 220-pound strong-side defensive end from Lincoln-Way East High School in Frankfort, Illinois. He is rated as a three-star recruit who is the No. 814 player in the class of 2020 and the No. 43 strong-side defensive end in the nation.
