Honestly, it came down to two players. I was deciding between running back Reggie Corbin and kicker Chase McLaughlin. These are the two players who made the biggest impact on the Illinois football team this season.
Some people might look at having a kicker on here as a joke, but McLaughlin has been spectacular this season with his ability to put points on the board for the Illini. He was 36-of-36 on extra points and 20-of-25 for field goals. He made 4-of-6 from 50-plus yards as well, which is extremely impressive.
While McLaughlin was impressive, I had to give the MVP award this year to Reggie Corbin.
