There are former Illinois football players scattered all over the NFL and one just got picked up by a team in need.
The San Francisco 49ers have decided to bring running back Pierre Thomas on board to fill in for their injured stable of backs.
Thomas played college football with the Illini. He played running back for Illinois during a very dark time in the programs history. They only managed to compile eight total wins in the four seasons that Thomas spent with them.
Despite the slumping team, Thomas did pretty well.
