Illinois Football: Evaluating Brandon Peters first start with the Illini

Naming a starter during training camp is one thing. You can think a player is going to be good for your offense all you want. But when games actually start and the pace changes, sometimes it is an entirely different story.

Honestly, the jury was still out on Illini starting quarterback, Brandon Peters. Yes, he was rated highly in the class of 2016, but Peters didn’t get to play a lot at Michigan and when he did see the field, his numbers weren’t great. There was a reason to be skeptical about his game.

I might be jumping the gun here, but I am not skeptical about what Peters brings to the Illini anymore.
