There are certain areas on the team that have worried me recently. These areas either lacked depth, talent or potentially both. Defensive tackle was one of those positions. We needed more bodies in the middle of the defensive line and that is what we got with Quinton McCoy.
McCoy is a 6-foot-2, 261-pound defensive tackle from Bloomingdale High School in Valrico, Florida. He isn’t rated or ranked by 247Sports, but he did have scholarship offers from some big-time programs. Illinois was able to land this talented defensive tackle and now can continue building.
I wasn’t completely sure Illinois was going to land McCoy.
