Illinois managed to start the game off pretty well taking a 14-0 lead and finishing the 1st half off with a 19 point lead. This type of a lead is something we haven’t seen this whole season. It was quite refreshing.
The Illini then had a rough 2nd half. They let South Dakota chip away at the big lead and actually got it down to a 6 point game with 1:30 left in the game. This is something Illinois has had trouble with as of late. They can’t finish games strong.
Another thing that the Illini still need to address is their defense in general.
