Ayo could have declared for the NBA after his freshman campaign. He averaged 13.8 points, 4 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.3 steals per game in year one. He would have been somewhere in the late second round as an NBA pick too.
But I am thankful Ayo came back for his sophomore season. This not only will help him with his draft stock, but it also helped Illinois win more basketball games this season. The Illini would have been left without one of their three-headed guard monster in Ayo Dosunmu, Andres Feliz and Trent Frazier.
