They are attempting to cast a wide net for the class of 2017, but Illinois may not be done with the class of 2016 just yet.
It was first reported by Scout that Illinois is officially back in the race for point guard Charlie Moore’s commitment.
Moore originally committed to Memphis back in November of 2015 after a long recruiting process.
Among the suitors that were previously after Moore were Illinois, California, Memphis, VCU, and Pittsburgh.
Moore ended up going with the Tigers after his visits. But thanks to former Memphis coach Josh Pastner taking the Georgia Tech job, this opened recruiting back up for Moore.
