As of right now, Illinois’ scholarship situation only shows the Orange and Blue with one open scholarship for 2020. While that doesn’t look promising, there will be at least one more opening up after the upcoming season concludes. I would assume Ayo Dosunmu heads to the NBA following his sophomore campaign.
So, we are looking at, roughly, two open spots on the team to fill. Illinois had more open spots but they recently filled one with big man Coleman Hawkins. Hawkins will help build depth in the frontcourt for the Illini. This is a great pickup for Brad Underwood.
