CLEMSON, S.C. — A close loss against a high-major opponent left Illinois women’s basketball coach Nancy Fahey thinking what might have been.
The Illini overcame a 16-point deficit in the second half against Clemson.
Illinois forced overtime with a clutch three-pointer in the corner from Brandi Beasley with 9 seconds left in regulation.
And Arieal Scott had a chance to send the Illini off as winners.
But, her last-ditch three-point bid was off the mark and Illinois lost 69-67 to the Tigers at Littlejohn Coliseum in Clemson, S.C. in an ACC/Big Ten showdown on Wednesday night.
