Those who served
Today's game is also Military Appreciation Day at Memorial Stadium, with several miltary-themed events planned. Pilots from the Air Force's 114th Fighter Squadron will conduct a pregame flyover with a pair of F-15 Strike Eagles, and Illinois' Army ROTC will have its swearing-in ceremony during the game. Veteran students from both Illinois and Minnesota will also take part in the pregame coin toss.
Familiar faces
The same BTN crew (mostly) has the call for today's game as last week's blowout Maryland win. Brandon Gaudin has play-by-play duties alongside former Minnesota coach Glen Mason, who replaces James Laurinaitis from last week.
