NORTHBROOK — Illini rising sophomore golfer Bing Singhsumalee tied for fifth place at the U.S. Women’s Amateur Qualifier and advanced to the U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship, which is scheduled Aug. 1-7 in Springfield, Pa.
Singhsumalee was at 3 under par at the turn after four front-nine birdies. She finished the 18-hole qualifier at 1-under 70.
