ROSEMONT — For the second time in three weeks, Illinois’ Cody Sedlock received the Big Ten’s Pitcher of the Week honor, the league office announced on Tuesday.
Sedlock threw his first complete game and retired the final 22 batters in a 4-2 win for the Illini on Saturday at Maryland.
This is the third consecutive week Illinois has won this award, with Doug Hayes picking up the accolade last week and Sedlock the week before, making Illinois the first team to claim this recognition against three Big Ten opponents since Purdue did so during the 2012 season.
