NEW YORK CITY — Jeremiah Tilmon’s game was finished before it had hardly started Saturday in the championship of the Dick’s Sporting Goods High School Nationals.
The La Lumiere center and top 2017 Illinois recruiting target suffered a shoulder injury less than 2 minutes into the game at Madison Square Garden trying to poke the ball away from an Oak Hill Academy player after his first — and only — missed shot of the game. The 6-foot-10 junior was helped off the court and to the locker room, holding his injured left arm so it wouldn’t move, and was later officially declared out.
