TULSA, Okla. — Illini tennis players Jared Hiltzik and Aleks Vukic advanced to the round of 16 in the NCAA Singles Championships on Thursday, earning All-America honors.
Hiltzik, who defeated Texas A&M’s Shane Vinsant 6-4, 6-2 on Thursday, claimed All-America honors for the third time in his career, joining former Illini Amer Delic and Kevin Anderson among those to accomplish it.
Vukic, who posted a 7-6 (8), 4-6, 7-6 (6) victory against Mississippi State’s Rishab Agarwal, was scheduled to play North Carolina’s Ronnie Schneider at 10 a.m. Friday.
