DANVILLE — "Fifth time's the charm" is not a common refrain in any walk of life. Yet it turned out to be accurate for Danville senior Phillip Hall when it came to determining his post-high school destination.
The middle- and long-distance runner always planned on taking his talents to the college level. A visit to Bradley was followed by stops at DePaul — with whom he was briefly signed — Illinois State and Indiana State.
Something just wasn't right, though.
"Sometimes you go through periods where you doubt and you worry," Hall said. "I couldn't put my finger on why DePaul wasn't for me.
