CHAMPAIGN — Beth Prince had about 30 seconds to let the ankle injury she suffered during the final practice before Illinois’ Orange and Blue Scrimmage send her down the path of “Oh, no, not again.”
That was as far down that particular path Illinois coach Kevin Hambly and athletic trainer Randy Ballard were going to let the freshman outside hitter go.
“Honestly, that was my first thought,” Prince said. “But Kevin and Randy were very big on keeping me positive. Randy emphasized to me the situation I was in, (the high ankle sprain) would have happened to anybody.
