CHAMPAIGN — Kendrick Foster was gone.
The Illinois running back declared so on his Twitter account in late November, announcing his intention to transfer two days after the Illini season ended with a loss to Northwestern at Solider Field.
In a time when what someone types out in 140 characters or less is taken at its word, no matter that they’re doing so behind a keyboard or on a cellphone, Foster said he acted out of emotions with that particular tweet.
“I was being immature,” Foster said. “I was here for three years, and I finally started playing a little bit when people got hurt, and I felt like I deserved better than that.
