CHAMPAIGN — Tim Finke set his cell phone to “Do Not Disburb” mode about 10:45 p.m. Tuesday night.
The Champaign Central junior had a trip to Terre Haute, Ind., and three games at a team camp at Indiana State the next day.
Sleep was going to be important.
So was making sure his phone wouldn’t wake him during the night.
Because it would have.
Midnight eastern time was zero hour Wednesday. It marked the first time college coaches could contact 2018 recruits like Finke directly.
Finke woke up Wednesday morning to a bevy of text messages and phone calls.
