CHAMPAIGN — The physical aspect of Mikey Dudek subsequently returning to playing football won’t come easy.
Two torn anterior cruciate ligament injuries to his right knee in the span of a year guarantee that for the Illinois wide receiver.
Dudek met with renowned orthopedic surgeon Dr. James Andrews on Monday for a consultation before Andrews operates on Dudek’s knee on Tuesday at the Andrews Institute in Gulf Breeze, Fla., according to Rick Dudek, Mikey’s father.
The mental side, however, is another obstacle Dudek will need to overcome in his latest setback to play football again with the Illini.
