CHAMPAIGN — Illinois offensive lineman Christian DiLauro grew up in Uniontown, Ohio, which is 50 miles from Cleveland and 380 miles from Chicago.
So, why is DiLauro a fan of the NFL’s Bears and not the Browns?
It’s a long story. One that has everything to do with his father Matt and former Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher.
“My dad grew up a Bears fan his whole life, and I went with him on that,” DiLauro said. “Brian Urlacher was my favorite player when I really started following football. I don’t know how I feel about him with hair.
