CARMEL, Ind. — Charlie Danielson earned medalist honors Tuesday at the Crooked Stick Intercollegiate, leading Illinois men’s golf to a runaway team victory at the event.
Danielson carded a 2-under third round at Crooked Stick Golf Course to finish at 4 under for the event, 3 strokes ahead of Kentucky’s Tyler McDaniel. McDaniel led Danielson by 8 strokes entering play Tuesday.
Dylan Meyer finished tied for third at even-par while Nick Hardy tied for sixth at 3 over.
The Illini collectively carded a 2-over score for the tournament, finishing 19 strokes ahead of runner-up Purdue.
