Illinois men’s tennis coach Brad Dancer was among those in attendance rollicking in the fun Monday night when ex-Illini Kevin Anderson defeated Andy Murray to reach the quarterfinals at the U.S. Open. Sports Editor Matt Daniels caught up with Dancer on Tuesday before Anderson’s quarterfinals match today:

Dancer sported an orange Illinois polo on Monday, making him an easy target when TV cameras panned to Anderson’s cheering section. “It was an electric atmosphere,” Dancer said. “Especially when Andy got the crowd into it. It became a bit of a tidal wave that Kevin handled with tremendous composure.
