Ball movement at heart of refined offensive approach for Underwood's Illini

CHAMPAIGN — Much of the Illinois offense is predicated on dribble handoffs in the pinch post (the high post on the help side of the floor). It's a wrinkle on the triangle offense Tex Winter brought to the Michael Jordan-era Chicago Bulls, which initiated plenty of action out of the pinch post.

It's no coincidence Brad Underwood has incorporated it into his offensive system. Underwood and Winter both have Kansas State ties, and the second-year Illini coach called Winter "a basketball icon, coaching innovator, great teacher of the game, and someone I spent years learning from" after his death this past October.
