Asmussen | Finally, college baseball is catching fire

For those of us fortunate enough to grow up in Omaha, Neb., college baseball has always been a really big deal.

Being the home of the College World Series since 1950 made it a must.

Great to see the rest of the country is catching on.

Thanks to cable, satellite services, the internet and social media, coverage of college baseball is at unprecedented heights. With room to grow.

"It is unbelievably different," Illinois pitching coach Drew Dickinson said. "When I played here (from 1999-2002), you had the newspaper. There was no TV until the College World Series.
