In desperation mode, the Illinois football team came away with a massive win on Saturday.
The Illini were coming off one of the ugliest games in program history. A 53-point loss is embarrassing, but a way to help erase that loss was by beating USC.
Historically, USC has had Illinois’ number. Not on Saturday, though. The Illini took it to the Trojans, going up by as many as 14 points at one time. USC did fight back, taking the lead in the final couple of minutes.
