Women's Tennis Posts Strong Showing at Gonzaga Invitational

SPOKANE – The Idaho women's tennis team showcased impressive performances in the three-day Gonzaga Invitational over the weekend at the Stevens Center.
Six Vandals earned eight singles wins and two doubles teams advanced on to the quarterfinals in the six-team tournament.

Sophomore Jayanne Palma highlighted the weekend for Idaho, going 2-1 and earning a runner-up finish in the White draw. Palma tallied wins over Montana State's JJ Chen and Montana's Nancy Cabanas.

After falling in the opening round of singles play, Lena Beckx and Nicole Horacek fought their way back in the Red Draw to meet up to face each other in the consolation finals.
