SPOKANE, Wash. – The Idaho track and field team had a very successful meet at the Spokane Memorial Open, taking five individual wins.
Kolcie Bates took the win in the discus throw at 42.01 meters. Bates also placed third in the hammer throw at 49.46 meters and ninth in the shot put at 11.60 meters.
Kaleala Bass edged out a win in the 400-meter dash, defeating Eastern Washington’s Janessa Day by one one-hundredth of a second with a season-best time of 58.30 seconds.
Kaizer Gillispie won the 400-meter dash with a season-best and Big Sky Championship qualifying mark of 48.
