RENO, Nev. - Nevada (2-3) made two late free-throws to edge Idaho (1-4) 61-60 in the second game of the Nugget Classic presented by the University of Nevada Friday afternoon.
Nevada's Nia Alexander sank both free-throws with four seconds left as the host Wolfpack escaped with a home win. Alexander led all scorers with 18 points.
The teams traded baskets throughout the first half, with neither team able to build a lead. Tied at 22 at the half, the Vandals opened up the scoring in the third quarter, building a six-point lead heading into the final frame.
