MOSCOW, Idaho – The University of Idaho Track & Field program is excited to announce the commitment of Fabian Cardenas of Umatilla High School.
Cardenas is a seven-time state champion in the state of Oregon. He won the 3A/2A/1A state cross country title as a junior and senior. Cardenas won five state championships on the track, winning three in the 3000-meters and two in the 1500-meters. He won both the 1500-meters and 3000-meters as a senior, setting 3A state meet records in both; in the 1500-meters with a time of 3:58.64 and in the 3000-meters in 8:30.
