LAS VEGAS, Nev. - Freshman Clara Moyano fired a five-under 67 during the first day of the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown as the Vandals started the 54-hole tournament with a 10-under 278 - good enough for second.
Junior Kendall Gray was just one stroke back at 68, while sophomore Michelle Kim turned in the other sub-par round of the day for the Vandals with her 71. Sophomore Sophie Kim is at even par 72 and senior Amy Hasenoehrl is at two-over 74.
"Clara had a break-through round today," coach Lisa Johnson said.
