MADISON, Ill. – Idaho Vandal men's golf is tied for first at the SIUE Dolenc Invitational after a solid showing across the board in windy conditions at the at the Gateway Golf Links in Madison, Ill., just across the river from downtown St. Louis.
"The conditions were tough today," head coach David Nuhn said. "It was an absolute battle in the wind and I am really proud of the way our guys fought through and finished strong. Those are things we hope to see continue tomorrow."
Five Vandals sit in the top 15 at the tournament, including freshman Sam Johnson who posted even par scores of 71s in both rounds to claim a tie for the fourth spot.
