MOSCOW, Idaho – The University of Idaho Track and Field program is thrilled to announce the commitment of Evan Henkel of West Salem High School in Salem, Ore.
Evan is one of the top middle-distance recruits in the country in the 2021 class. His personal best of 1:54.78 in the 800m from his sophomore year ranked him number one in his class in the state of Oregon and 18th nationally. He placed second at the Oregon State Track and Field Championships in the 6A race in the 800m his sophomore year. He was also part of a 4 x 400m relay team that paced fifth at the state meet, running the anchor leg in 49.
