MOSCOW, Idaho—For the first time this season Gina Marxen has earned Big Sky Conference Player of the Week honors as announced by the conference office Wednesday.
Marxen, the reigning Big Sky Freshman of the Year, and a preseason All-Conference selection, helped lead the Vandals to a 90-84 double-overtime win over Seattle last week with a career-high 30 points.
The sharpshooting sophomore played all 50 minutes and drained seven three-pointers, a career high, while finishing 8-16 from the floor.
Marxen also found success at the free-throw line against the Redhawks, finishing 7-8 from the charity stripe.
