Box Score SEATTLE, Wash. – There are times, coach Paul Petrino said, when you just get beat. Saturday at Husky Stadium that was the case for the Idaho Vandals as they lost 59-14 to eighth-ranked Washington – a team Petrino said is worthy of its ranking.
"We just got whupped," he said. "They whupped us."
That's not to say he thought the Vandals were at their best.
"We didn't play anywhere like I thought we would," he said, "but give them credit. They just got after us up front.
"Our guys stayed fighting in the second half.
