KINGSTON SPRINGS, Tenn. - Idaho women's golf senior Sophie Hausmann is tied for ninth at the U.S. Women's Amateur Championship after shooting a 3-under 68 Monday, in the first round of stroke play at the Golf Club of Tennessee. The second round of stroke play will take place Tuesday, before the field is cut to 64 players for six rounds of match play.
Hausmann started her round on the back nine, recording a birdie on 12 and a bogey on 15 to sit even through her first six holes. She responded with birdies on 16 and 17 to make the turn at 2-under.
