DENVER – Idaho student-athletes swept the Western Athletic Conference Women's Swimmer and Diver of the Week Awards, the league announced Tuesday. Freshman Katie Hale was named the swimmer of the week, while senior Janelle Lucas earned diver of the week honors for the second consecutive week.
Hale claimed the first conference award of her career after winning three individual events and a relay victory in helping the Vandals defeat Grand Canyon and Simon Fraser Saturday, in a tri-dual. The Park City, Utah, native won the 50-yard freestyle (23.85), 100-yard backstroke (57.48) and 200-yard backstroke (2:06.
