AUSTIN, Texas—Moments after being named the Big Sky Conference Most Valuable Player, senior basketball student-athlete Mikayla Ferenz was named the 2019 Google Cloud Division I Academic Team Member of the Year for women's basketball, the College Sports Information Directors of America announced Monday.
Already capturing All-American honors last year, the three-time Academic All-District honoree took it to the next level becoming the first Vandal in Idaho history to earn the distinction of First Team Member of the Year. She is also the first woman to win the award in Big Sky history and third Big Sky student-athlete.
