Ferenz Named Big Sky Player of the Week

OGDEN, Utah—Idaho sophomore Mikayla Ferenz was named the Big Sky women's basketball Player of the Week on Tuesday. It is the second time this season a Vandal has been awarded the honor.

Ferenz, a Walla Walla, Wash., native, helped the Vandals break a five-game losing streak with a 74-71 upset at Wyoming last week. The second-year guard recorded a career-high 34 points in the win. Ferenz, one half of Idaho's "Splash Sisters," scored 28 points through the first three quarters, including 12 of Idaho's 14 points in the third.

Ferenz closed the game with career-highs in field goals made and attempted, going 13-of-24 from the field, while hitting 3-of-7 from long range.
